There is a Level 2 to 3 out of 5 risk for isolated to scattered severe storms this evening across portions of the northern Hill Country and central Texas. Large to very large hail and damaging wind gusts are the primary threats. An isolated tornado can`t be ruled out. Dangerous heat is forecast this afternoon. Those spending extended time outdoors and not acclimated to the early season heat could be susceptible to heat related illness if not taking proper heat precautions. A Heat Advisory is in effect this afternoon and early evening for Atascosa, Dimmit, Frio, Maverick, and Zavala Counties. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday. The pattern for an early season heat wave continues Thursday through Monday with some of the hottest air projected to be Friday through Sunday. Those spending extended time outdoors and not acclimated to the heat could be susceptible to heat related illness if not taking proper heat precautions, such as drinking plenty of water and taking frequent breaks out of the sun and heat.
